On Friday 11th October we will be holding a Wear What You Like Day to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
All money raised will go directly to Cancer Research UK, and will be divided between their research into Pancreatic cancer, and cancer research in general. Around 8 in 10 pancreatic cancer cases are diagnosed at a late stage. Pancreatic cancer is difficult to diagnose, and often diagnosis comes from admittance to A&E with varying symptoms. This often means it is too late for effective treatment. Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all cancers, with just 3-6% of people diagnosed surviving for 5 years.
With our Wear What You Like Day, we hope to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer, and raise some money to help fund life-changing research. We are asking for a donation of £1 for your child to wear their own clothes, which will be collected in by your child’s tutor on the morning of Friday 11th October.
During break time, there will also be a bake sale in the dining room, with cakes and biscuits from 20p to 50p on sale. All the money from the bake sale will again go directly to Cancer Research UK.
As ever with Wear What You Like Days, clothing must be school appropriate (no crop tops, high shoes, jewellery etc.). If your child does not wish to take part, they must come to school in full uniform.
