Internet Safety

Published on 31st March 2020

Dear Parent/Carer,

We are aware that during this difficult time, the need for our students to connect with their friends is vital. Most will be using their mobile phones, tablets and games consoles to do this. We would recommend that you encourage this contact to support their well-being and to try to protect them from feelings of loneliness.

However, this increased use of the internet brings with it its own challenges and dangers and it is important that you remain vigilant in regards to the way they use their devices and the platforms they are accessing. With this in mind, below are links to some useful websites that can support and advise you to ensure your children are safe online. There are also some resources on the ‘think u know’ website that you can share with your children.

Finally, I would urge you to check the filters and privacy on your children’s devices to ensure they are as safe as they can be.

Kind regards
