We hope that your child/children has/have had a very positive start to the Autumn Term with us. As you will be aware Fernwood School has very high expectations in terms of Behaviour for Learning, Uniform, and engaging positively with lessons and Teaching and Learning in school.
I write to you at this time to reinforce our very high expectations in relation to our school uniform. Whilst the very vast majority of students have excellent uniform we are concerned that there is currently a trend for shorter tighter trousers. This is not in line with our school uniform rules meaning trousers are too tight/too short/ankles are on show. School trousers should be tailored, not tight fitting, and of an adequate length so that ankles are covered.
We request that you support the school by making sure your child’s/children’s trousers are not tight fitting, and are of an appropriate length and ankles are covered. We ask that this is resolved over the next 4 weeks so that on our return to school after half term (Monday 4 November) all students meet our uniform expectations in full. Should this not be the case and your child does not meet our uniform expectations, from Monday 4 November they will be out of circulation at break time and have a uniform detention at lunch time. These sanctions will remain in place until the issue is resolved.
Thank you in advance for your support in this matter.
