The Fernwood School is working towards no longer accepting cash or cheque for school dinners and trips. You can make payments safely and securely online using a system called ParentPay or if you’d prefer you can use your local PayPoint.
Payment for school meals will be made via ParentPay, parents will be able to pay any amount of money into a pupil’s account, and any money spent on food & drink will be deducted on a daily basis. A daily ‘spend limit’ of £4 will be programmed into the cashless catering system, however much is used by your child for break, lunch and tuck shop will be deducted by the catering team for payment of your child’s meal. The spend limit can be increased or decreased for an individual student by making a written request to the school finance office.
A biometric system will be used for pupils to purchase school lunches, the till will recognise your child’s thumbprint. It is important that you return your biometric consent letter to the school as a matter of priority otherwise it will be assumed that you are not giving consent for your child to be registered on the biometric system and a 4 digit PIN code will be allocated. Please note that PIN codes do not have the same level of security and it will be your child’s responsibility to remember the code and keep it secure at all times.
