Salary Information

The Fernwood School enjoys an excellent reputation. It is an oversubscribed school which has been judged as ‘outstanding’ in all categories by Ofsted.

Required for September 2020, we have a rare opportunity to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and highly skilled teacher of Food Technology capable of delivering at both KS3 and KS4, and also helping with the delivery of Health & Social Care within KS4.

The Fernwood School has a thriving, well equipped and forward-thinking Food & Health department and you would be joining a high performing and cohesive team of teachers and technical staff. The department is part of the larger ‘Art, Design & Technology’ faculty, where staff work closely together, often taking a collaborative approach.

The department benefits from 2 well equipped and modern food rooms, with an oven/hob between pairs, industrial fridges, ceiling mounted cameras for demos, technical staff, and class sizes of 22 at most. We are lucky to have 3 dedicated D&T specific computer rooms within the department, so computer access is also available.
