Wearing Something Festive Day

Published on 15th December 2014

Dear Parent/Carer

Wearing Something Festive day on Friday 19th December

We are organising a Wear Something Festive day on Friday 19th December for the Rainbow Hospice in Loughborough.  The hospice is a place where life-limited children and their families can find care and support.  In September this year a former student sadly lost her life to cancer, she had just reached her 21st birthday. The Rainbow Hospice was a great support to the student, which is why Fernwood School would like to promote this cause.  All of the money raised will be donated to the hospice and some of it will be used to purchase an engraved glass brick in memory of our former student.

Students can wear something in a festive colour such as green, red, gold or silver. They could also wear a Christmas themed jumper, hat or T shirt (they do not need to wear school uniform). If your child wishes to take part in this important fund raising event they need to bring £1 during break time in the canteen from Monday 15th December. There is, of course, no compulsion to take part and students who do not wish to participate must wear full school uniform.

We look forward to seeing students getting into the festive spirt for an extremely worthy cause. Thank you in advance for your support.

Yours sincerely,

Miss S Bamlett                                                                      Mrs T Rees
