Dear Parent/Carer,
I hope this letter finds you and your family safe and well. As a parent/carer of a child/children in Year 6, I am sure that you and your child/children may currently have some questions regarding the Year 6 Transition and Induction process.
I would like to take this opportunity to let you know that all of the usual robust planning and particular care and attention to detail that always go into the Year 6 Transition and Induction process are well underway.
This includes:
This very close liaison with our primary schools supports the crucial transfer of information to support your child/children as they move from Year 6 to Year 7, and very importantly already gives us an individual picture of your child/children.
We currently hope (Covid health and safety restrictions permitting) to run our Induction Days on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th July in the usual way. We hope therefore on these days to welcome our Year 6 students into The Fernwood School to meet their new tutors and teachers, and for them to start to experience a real flavour of the next steps in their learning and development.
Should we be unable to run the Induction Days in the usual way we will use our website to support an introduction to new tutors and teachers and curriculum areas.
Clearly we are already in close contact with Year 6 teachers to address any questions that arise, and our key aim remains to welcome you and your Year 6 child/children most warmly, and to support you all at this very important time.
Rest assured I will keep in touch with you all with any further updates and developments in relation to the Year 6 Transition and Induction process.
Thank you all for your cooperation and understanding, and I hope you and your families all stay safe and well.
With kindest regards,
Mrs Morrill – Assistant Head Teacher
The Fernwood School
