Dear Parents / Carers
As you may be aware the Education Department will consult with teachers in due course about your child’s predicted, and consequentially, their actual grades.
For those students who have worked hard and been predicted good outcomes they really should not be unduly worried. For students with disappointing mock results I have asked their teachers to take into consideration the extent to which they engage with online learning. In this way it is possible that student predictions may be improved. I hope that is clear.
It is of course good practice for students to maintain a sensible working routine. They should not be working all the time, that would be counterproductive.
I have precious little information as yet as to how the final grade will be determined. Of what I am told is that there may be some moderation based on KS2 results. I am also confident in staff’s predictions based on historical evidence. I also am told that there will be an appeal process or the possibility to sit exams later in the year.
For now, try not to worry. As soon as I receive clarity I will write to all of you again.
Wishing you and your loved ones all the very best of health.
Kind regards
Paul Burke
