I write to inform you of a change to the published school calendar. On 16th March 2015 we will be holding Pre Public Examinations in Maths and English for all Year 11 students. These examinations will be assessed and will inform teaching staff of the areas in which to focus intervention and support. This day has been allocated as an INSET day, however we feel by holding the examinations here it will have a minimal impact on Year 11 lesson time. It is expected that all Year 11 students attend school on this day.
The format of the day will be different from a normal school day. Students will not be expected to wear school uniform and a free breakfast will be provided. Students should arrive at school 30 minutes before their first scheduled examination start time should they require a breakfast. If students do not wish to have a breakfast they should arrive ten minutes before the scheduled examination start time. The programme for the day is outlined below.
08:00 to 08:45 – Breakfast available in Dining Room
08:30 to 11:15 – English exam for those entitled to extra time in Study Support.
09:00 to 11:15 – English exam in Hall and Gym.
11:15 to 11:35 – Break with usual refreshments available.
11:45 to 14:15 – Maths exam for those entitled to extra time in Study Support.
11:45 to 13:45 – Maths exam in Hall and Gym.
I apologise for any inconvenience that this change may cause, and if there is a genuine reason why your child cannot attend school on 16th March 2015, please inform Mrs Hopkinson using the telephone number at the base of this letter or via email at email@example.com.
May I also take this opportunity to remind you of the Revision Information Evening taking place at school on 12th March which begins at 7:00 p.m. Parents and students are strongly encouraged to attend this event.
