Dear Parents and Carers,
Another school announcement was made yesterday in response to pressures on the NHS and the R rate. As per my letter dated 21st of December Monday 04 January will be taken as an additional INSET Day to allow the staff of the school to prepare for the testing that will hopefully be carried out. I have been in contact over the last two days with Health Officials and the information received still lacks sufficient clarity.
Children of critical workers and vulnerable students will return on Tuesday 05 January. They will work in Year group bubbles in a computer room to further ensure as low a risk as possible of increasing the R rate. Year 11 students will receive on line learning from Tuesday 05 January and all other Year groups from 11 January as per the government announcement. Students in Year 11, will return to face-to-face teaching in school on Monday 11 January.
During the week commencing 11 January, all learning for students in Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 will be remote and will be a combination of google classroom and live lessons. A further, more detailed letter will be sent in the new year.
In spite of the fact that we have moved into tier four, I do believe that the introduction of vaccinations offer real hope.
I wish you all a safe and Happy New Year
