Year 11 Parents Evening – 3 December 2020

Dear Parent/Carer,

I hope this letter finds you well.  As you will be aware from the school calendar, we have the first of our Year 11 Parents’ Evenings on Thursday 3rd December. This important event will allow subject teachers to update you on your child’s attitudinal and academic progress so we strongly encourage all parents and carers to attend.  In order to support the whole school community, we will be hosting this online event via ePraise and Microsoft Teams.  Attached with this letter is a reminder of how to sign up to ePraise so please follow this guidance if you have not yet registered.  All parents are expected to sign up by Monday 23rd November.

To allow this Year 11 Parents’ Evening to run smoothly, we would like all parents to adhere to the following guidance:

• To make all online appointments using the guidance provided.  All appointments must be made by Wednesday 2nd December.  Appointments cannot be made on the day of the Parents’ Evening.
• To request only one appointment per child for each subject.  Appointments will last for five minutes and staff will need to stick rigidly to time.  If you wish to discuss your child’s progress beyond the scheduled appointment, you can contact the subject teacher at another convenient time.
• To join the online meeting no earlier than two minutes before the scheduled appointment.  You will then be held in the ‘meeting lobby’ and the teacher will invite you to the meeting at the scheduled time.
• In the event of any technical difficulties, or if you are unable to make the agreed appointment time at late notice, parents should avoid trying to join another meeting later in the evening.  The teacher will, instead, contact you after Parents’ Evening to discuss your child’s progress.

Appointments can be made with your child’s subject teachers between 3:45pm and 6:45pm.   Other key staff – Mr Walker – Pastoral Leader Year 11, and Mr Hughes, Assistant Headteacher and Senior Leader link for Year 11 will also be available.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to “seeing you” virtually on Thursday 3rd December. The school will send a message nearer the time to alert you to the ePraise Parents’ Evening booking system, which will be open from Monday 23rd November.
